PCMS PTO Header: Equity & Excellence

Welcome!

Welcome to the Park Crest PTO website! We're so glad you're here. We believe Park Crest is the best Middle School in PFISD, and definitely the most unique! We're a community of parents and teachers that strive to support staff and students with supplies, instructional materials, enrichment experiences, hospitality, concessions, and more! We know the warmth, acceptance, and diversity of our school mean there's a place for you to belong and contribute too. Park Crest Middle School prides itself on equity and excellence for every student, and PTO is committed to helping achieve those goals.Whether it's helping with a canned food drive, attending games or fine arts events, or baking cookies for the staff, we're grateful for your active participation in your child's education. It's often the seemingly small things that make the biggest difference in our students' middle school experience. Middle school kids might say they don't want their parents around, but trust us, they really do! We hope, through this site, you will find the information you need to ensure your student's success! If you don't, reach out to us directly, we're here to help!

What does PTO do?

The PCMS PTO works to support our school, teachers & staff, parents, and students. Everything we do is possible because of volunteer time and community support — here's where it goes:

School merchandise
We provide free den shirts for every student, so all kids can show their den pride from day one, plus additional PCMS shirts, hoodies, and gear available for purchase throughout the year. Make a Purchase

Teacher & Staff Meals
Once a month, we coordinate a meal or treats for all teachers and staff — a small way of saying thank you to the people who show up for our kids every day. Volunteer to help

Teacher Requests
Teachers and staff can request funds for special projects — things like student t-shirts for special events, food for kids attending tutoring, or classroom supplies that make a difference but don't always fit the school budget. Donate or Make a Fund Request (current staff only)

Concessions
At PCMS sporting events and other special occasions, the PTO runs the concession stand. The funds we raise go right back into supporting everything else on this list. Volunteer to help

Communicate with stakeholders
We keep our community connected through meetings, newsletters, and regular updates — so parents always know what's happening at Park Crest and how they can get involved. Join our mailing list
None of this happens without volunteers. Join us at a meeting or reach out to find out how to help.

What Makes PCMS Special

Step onto our campus and you'll notice it right away: this is a calm, happy place to learn. We're a Title I school with an incredibly diverse student body, and that diversity is one of our greatest strengths — our students learn alongside classmates from every kind of background, and that makes our community richer for it. We have robust programming in Fine Arts, STEM, Athletics, Gifted & Talented, Special Education, and more. We are the Proud Pumas of Park Crest!

A Sense of Belonging
Every one of our 700+ students belongs to one of four Puma-inspired "dens": Painter, Catamount, Mountain Screamer, and Shadow Cat. Students meet in their dens for advisory, social-emotional learning, and to earn points together, building friendships across grade levels. It's one of the simple reasons our hallways feel warm instead of overwhelming.

Student-Led Clubs
We believe good ideas can come from anyone — including our students. If two kids have a club idea and can find a staff member willing to sponsor it, they can start it. That spirit has led to everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Chess Club, each one born of a student's passion and staff's commitment to going above and beyond.

Excellence Across the Board
Calm doesn't mean quiet ambition. Our students compete — and compete well — in athletics, fine arts, UIL academics, and more. We're proud of the work ethic and school spirit that shows up on the field, on the stage, and in the classroom.

Real-World Learning
Park Crest was chosen by Pflugerville ISD's Career and Technical Education department for a special partnership bringing hands-on career exposure directly into our classrooms — giving students a head start on discovering what they might want to do someday.

Staff Funding Requests

Staff may request items from the PTO for their classroom including books and teacher tools, support for field trips, special projects as well as supplies and equipment for student programs, extra-curricular or student group activities. Staff may also request assistance for PTO to publicize needs for volunteer services and/or donated goods.

Staff may complete the form and submit it to Administration for approval. After approval is received, staff should email the form to [email protected] (or give it to Dunja Moreno and send an email to notify PTO that it has been submitted).

The PTO Board will consider the request at the next PTO board meeting/discussion. Requests greater than $500 will also need approval at a general PTO meeting, which are usually held once a month. Staff are welcome to attend the PTO meeting to further describe their request.

Please submit your request to the PTO 30 days in advance when possible.
